Welcome to Ramer's Herefords!

Felton's Mo 612

We have been breeders of performance polled Herefords in Wisconsin since 1973, but over those years the meaning of "performance" has changed. Originally it meant growth, but it didn't take long for "problem free" and "calving ease" to become part of "performance" in our cattle herd.

We really focused on the maternal traits and cow longevity for quite some time, then progressed to where we recognized the importance of the efficiency of our Herefords. Finally, we entered the stage where we recognized that carcass quality - marbling, ribeye and tenderness - were also critical components of "performance". The 2003 purchase of Feltons MO 612, our senior herd sire, with his unique combination of strengths brought the whole program together.

Along the way, we have been proud that we have become broadly recognized as the breeder "Known for Thick, productive, problem free polled breeding stock with muscle, marbling, ribeye and tenderness."

At the heart of our program, since the beginning, was the recognition that our goal was to breed Herefords that would generate profits for our customers. The Hereford genetics we produce are not meant primarily for the show ring, although they perform well there. We have focused on producing genetics which meet the market needs of today's meat industry and add to our customer's profits because they:

It is our belief that ALL of the above are important in achieving profits in the beef industry.

If you agree and if you want benefit from our program by using Mo semen, our bulls or through the purchase of foundation females (whether cows or heifers), we have the means by which you can add profits to your operation.

Take a Look and then Give Us a Yell.
