Added to our herd battery in the fall of 2006, S604 has already proven himself to be a fitting partner with Feltons Mo 612 in continuing the genetic progress of the RAMERS Herefords herd.
S604 is co-owned with Ellis Farms of Chisman, IL and SCHU-LAR Polled Herefords of Lecompton, KS. We believe in the programs of these two outstanding breeders of cattle and are proud sharing the AI rights of S604 with them.
The dam of S604, GERBER 117F DIXIE 009K (P42068219), is arguably the most recognized donor cow in the Hereford bred. His sire, EF 821C MR CARCASS G824 [CHB] (P24033975), is widely recognized as one of the breed's greatest carcass bulls.
S604 seems to have inherited the best of both parents - very moderate birth weights with excellent calving ease, solid growth through market age, plenty of milk and the ability to transmit absolutely amazing rib-eye AND marbling. His +.75 is one of the two dozen highest EPDs for that trait in the Hereford breed for sires having birth weight EPD's that are better than the bred average.
From the big things like birth weight, growth, milk, rib-eye and marbling to the little thinks like goggle-eyes and the removal of excess white, S604 definitely impressed us with his first calf crop.
